Fewer than one in five prosthodontists (17%) earn board certification in prosthodontics. Dr. Joseph DiFazio is one of the very few board-certified prosthodontists in the United States.

Prosthodontists receive three years of training after successful completion of their four-year general dental training. The training exposes them to the latest research and clinical experts in a variety of other medical disciplines. This extra training results in a dental restoration specialist with a wide range of diagnostic insights and treatment approaches.
Dr. DiFazio’s qualifications and skills extend well beyond the mouth and jawbone. As a Board-Certified Prosthodontist and Maxillofacial Prosthodontist, he creates prostheses for virtually any head-and-neck defect, including problems with ears, eyes, cheeks, nose, cranium, and more. Dr. DiFazio’s experience working closely with other healthcare professionals in various medical fields helps him become more involved in his patients’ sometimes complex rehabilitative processes.
